The visa process is not a magic wand, according to an employee at Nordstrom.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is now asking questions about whether the U.K. is accepting new visas for visa-exempt workers and how they can apply for an exception, according a notice sent to Nordstrom employees today.
The notice also says that Visa said it would consider reopening its Visa Application Portal to other countries.
A spokeswoman for the U.,S.
government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Nordstrom is the first U.T.O. company to be affected by the new rules.
Last week, the retailer announced that it would stop issuing visas for workers in the U,S.
The move was designed to avoid confusion for customers who would have to apply for the exception.
It came as the U and Canada’s new rules were expected to reduce the number of visa-free workers in both countries.
